Some of SteelCo’s projects still adhere to the conventional project delivery approach. In the Design-Bid-Build method, the project owner first hires an architect or designer to create detailed construction plans and specifications. Once the design is finalized, the owner puts the project out to bid, inviting construction firms to submit proposals based on the provided plans. Contractors then bid on the project, offering their estimated costs for construction based on the provided design documents. The owner selects the contractor with the most competitive offering and bid, and the construction work begins once the contract is awarded. This method allows for a clear separation between the design and construction phases, providing the owner with more control over the design process and potentially lowering construction costs through competitive bidding.

One potential advantage of the Design-Bid-Build approach is its
transparency and accountability. Since the design and construction phases are handled separately, there is a clear distinction of responsibilities between the architect, the contractor, and the owner. What States do you currently provide Design/Build and Construction Services in?

Currently, only GEORGIA and TENNESSEE for Design/Build and Bid/Build construction services. We are expanding our services soon to be available throughout MOST of the Southeastern USA.

Do you have any details regarding your safety program and/or quality standards?
  • EMR < 1.0 for past 20 years (0.83 for 2024)
  • OSHA 30 for all project managers and field personnel
  • All employees are CPR/AED and First Aid certified
  • OSHA 510 and 500 certified safety personnel on staff to provide continuous safety support and training.
  • Weekly safety stand downs (toolbox talks) with all employees and subcontractors at work sites
  • Daily safety audits of job sites by field personnel
